From January 15 to 17, 2026, an international freeride tournament will be held at the "Ala-Too Resort," organized by the State Enterprise "Ala-Too Resort" in collaboration with both local and foreign partners. This information was announced by the press service of the institution.
On the preparatory day, January 15, training sessions and workshops focused on slope safety are scheduled at the Karakol ski base. The main competitions will take place on January 16 at the resort, which is currently under construction.
Participants will include both Kyrgyz athletes and amateur skiers from about 20 countries. The competitions will be organized in several categories: for beginners, professionals, and women.
The key goal of the tournament is to strengthen Kyrgyzstan's image as an international winter tourist destination, showcase its potential, as well as develop extreme sports and create a platform for experience exchange between local and foreign athletes.
