At the UFC Fight Night 269 tournament held in Las Vegas, Orolbay fought against American Chris Curtis. In this match, he set a new welterweight record by executing 19 takedowns, which is the third-best result in UFC history.

In first place for this statistic is 37-year-old Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is a member of the UFC Hall of Fame and a former lightweight champion. The second position is held by Merab Dvalishvili, also a former UFC bantamweight champion.

Myktybek Orolbay expressed his desire to set a new record in his next fight, promising that the number of takedowns will be even higher.

“In my next fight, I plan to execute even more takedowns,” he noted at the press conference after the tournament.

The athlete also shared that the fight with Curtis was challenging, especially because he was in a fasting period.
