Mesárosh László

(1905-1945)
Hungarian sculptor. Born on September 18, 1905, on the outskirts of Budapest. He studied sculpture independently. His works were exhibited at the National Salon in Budapest and in Italy.

His creative method is realistic. His inclination towards progressive ideas led Mesárosh to emigrate from Horthy's Hungary to the Soviet Union in 1935, settling in Moscow. In March of the following year, he arrived with his family in Kyrgyzstan, where he devoted himself entirely to creative work. He worked as a sculptor and architect. He organized the first studio for sculptors in the Central Asian republics.

L. Mesárosh's largest work was to be a series of friezes for the meeting hall of the House of Government on the theme of the revolutionary struggle of the Kyrgyz people. The concept remained in sketches. L. Mesárosh sculpted from life Kyrgyz types. Ten of the works he created here became part of the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev. L. Mesárosh participated in the design of the railway station in Frunze. The layout is still preserved in the park near the House of Government. L. Mesárosh left a bright mark in Kyrgyz visual arts.
