Olga Maximilianovna Manuilova
(1893-1984)Sculptor. People's Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR. Born on October 30, 1893, in Nizhny Novgorod (now Gorky).
Olga Manuilova began working with sculpture in 1912 in Munich, under sculptors Hoffstetter and Schwegerle.
In 1916, she graduated from the sculpture department of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture. Her classmates included V. Mayakovsky, D. Burliuk, L. Pasternak, A. Plastov, and B. Sandomirskaya.
In 1938, at the invitation of the government of the Kyrgyz SSR, she came to work on the project for the monument to Toktogul Satylganov.
She dedicated more than 40 years of her life and creativity to the development of the artistic culture of Kyrgyzstan. She created numerous works of monumental and monumental-decorative art, as well as plastic art. The capital of the republic is still adorned by the sculptor's works. She created an entire gallery of sculptural portraits, the best of which reveal the image of people from the socialist era. The best works are kept in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev and in museums of the CIS.
