Storm Warning: On February 7-9, avalanches and ice are expected on the roads

Against the backdrop of fallen and expected precipitation, from February 7 to 9, avalanches are forecasted in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan and on the main highways of the country, as well as the formation of snow drifts, accumulations, and ice slicks.

According to Kyrgyzhydromet, avalanche-prone areas are located on the following routes:

- Bishkek—Osh (121-138 km, Töö-Ashuu Pass);

- Bishkek—Osh (198-255 km, Ala-Bel Pass, Chychkan Gorge);

- Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kyya (65-110 km);

- Krasnaya-Gorka—Ak-Tash (0-3 km);

- Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaykuu (65-101 km);

- Karakol—Enilchek (45-90 km, Chon-Ashuu Pass).

When passing through avalanche-prone zones, drivers are strongly advised to maintain a distance of 500 meters between vehicles.
