Storm Warning: Avalanches May Occur in Mountain Areas and Passes from February 5 to 7

According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, from February 5 to 7, precipitation is expected in the mountainous regions of the country and on some highways, which may lead to snow avalanches, the formation of snow drifts, snow cover, and ice slicks.

Avalanches are expected to occur in the following areas:

- 198-255 km of the Bishkek—Osh highway (Ala-Bel Pass, Chychkan Gorge);

- 65-101 km of the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya highway (Chapchyma Pass);

- 0-3 km of the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash highway;

- 65-110 km of the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaykuu highway;

- 45-90 km of the Karakol—Enilchek highway (Chon-Ashuu Pass).

In this regard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations strongly recommends maintaining a distance of 500 meters between vehicles in the specified areas.
