Ecological feeders for birds have been installed in the Ala-Archa Nature Park, made possible through the joint efforts of FAO staff in Kyrgyzstan, their children, and families. This initiative is timed to coincide with the organization's 80th anniversary.

According to FAO, forty feeders have been placed along the main alleys of the park, designed in a uniform style. Before installation, park rangers selected optimal locations and conducted briefings to avoid disrupting the ecosystem.

“Our goal is to instill a love for nature in children from an early age,” noted Oleg Guchgeldiev, FAO representative in Kyrgyzstan. “We are grateful to the Administration of the Ala-Archa Park for their support and warm reception of our initiative.”

The park is home to over 160 species of birds, many of which are rare and listed in the Red Book.

“In winter, birds face difficulties, and the new feeders will help them survive,” said Azamat Abdurazak, the park ranger. “We are pleased that FAO is paying attention to nature conservation and involving children in these processes, which is an important step towards forming a responsible attitude towards the environment.”

FAO will continue to implement ecological projects aimed at educating and protecting biodiversity in Kyrgyzstan. “We recommend that park visitors bring seeds or nuts to fill the feeders. Your contribution will help the feathered inhabitants of Ala-Archa during the cold season,” the organization added.
