On November 22, an ecological event took place in the Ala-Archa State Natural Park, where employees of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Kyrgyzstan (FAO), along with their family members, installed bird feeders. This event was timed to coincide with FAO Family Day, which celebrates the organization's 80th anniversary.

As part of the initiative, 40 eco-feeders, designed in a uniform style, were placed along the main alleys of the park. Park staff selected suitable locations in advance and conducted a briefing for participants on the proper installation of the feeders to minimize impact on the ecosystem.

There are over 160 bird species inhabiting Ala-Archa, including rare species listed in the Red Book. The installation of feeders is a small but important step in preserving biodiversity, which is directly related to the Sustainable Development Goals.

"Winter is a challenging period for birds, and the new feeders will serve as a necessary source of food for them," noted park ranger Azamat Abdurazak. "We are glad that FAO pays attention to environmental protection issues and involves both adults and children in these initiatives. This creates a foundation for responsible attitudes towards the environment."

Park visitors are invited to participate in the initiative: during walks, they can bring along some raw seeds or nuts to replenish the feeders.
