Since the beginning of November, some financial institutions in Tajikistan have restricted the ability to send money transfers to Russia, as reported by Radio Ozodi in its report.

The reason for these measures was the inclusion of three major banks in the country — "Dushanbe City Bank," "Spitamen," and "Commercial Bank of Tajikistan" — under European Union sanctions.

As a result, many other banks have begun to exercise caution in conducting operations related to Russia. For example, the Investment and Credit Bank (MCB) announced a temporary suspension of transfers to Russian financial institutions. Officially, such measures are explained by "technical" circumstances; however, bank representatives do not hide that EU sanctions have had a significant impact on their operations. The National Bank and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan noted that they are monitoring developments and interacting with international partners to mitigate the negative consequences of the sanctions,” the official statement said.

The blacklist of the European Union also includes the branch of VTB Bank in Kazakhstan, as well as the banks "Tolubai" and "Eurasian Savings Bank" from Kyrgyzstan, according to the latest data.
