Last weekend, a fair was held at Turdakun Usubaliev Square in Bishkek, showcasing socially significant products. Horse meat particularly attracted the attention of buyers, as it was offered at a price of 599 soms per kilogram. The fair also featured a variety of meat products, including beef, lamb, and chicken.

Burool Doletbaeva, a pensioner and member of the veteran choir "Red Carnation," happily shared her impressions: she purchased vegetables, fruits, and a bit of meat from various suppliers.

– I am very pleased with the variety of products at the fair; you can try everything. It’s nice that it will operate until the May holidays, so there’s no need to stock up on potatoes for a long time. You can always come and buy some fresh products. I thank the organizers and the president for their attention to prices, – noted Burool.

Visiting the fair on Saturday afternoon, we noticed a large number of buyers who were actively inquiring about the composition of sausages and rolls. Dried sausages, which producers call "almost meat chips," were particularly popular.

The fair showcased products from various family meat producers. For example, the Larin family has been producing smoked goods for many years, and their products are in demand. "Soviet" sausages, products from "Toybos," and many other companies also sold well.

Every weekend, fairs for socially significant goods and products take place in Bishkek. According to Iskak Anarbekov, the curator of the fairs and head of the project implementation sector for public-private partnerships at the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture, high quality standards are mandatory: the products must be environmentally friendly and certified, and sellers are required to provide documents from the district agricultural administration.

– Our goal is to make the fair not only a trading place but also a space for communication among citizens. Sellers receive useful advice, and residents get recommendations for healthy eating and longevity. Creative groups and theaters also perform at the fair, creating a festive atmosphere, – added Anarbekov.

The fairs are held not only at Turdakun Usubaliev Square but also in the Vostok-5 microdistrict on Torekul Aitmatov Street, as well as in the 12th microdistrict. The main goal is to support domestic producers and sell agricultural products at wholesale prices for city residents.

The Ministry of Agriculture invites entrepreneurs who wish to sell their agricultural products. For more information, you can contact the following numbers: (0312) 66-14-22, 0702 70 20 00.

Saturday and Sunday fairs in Bishkek will continue until mid-May 2026.
