Every Saturday and Sunday, the central square of Bishkek transforms into a space for communication between farmers and the residents of the capital. The Bishkek agricultural fair becomes not only a place for selling fresh and organic products but also a platform for sharing experiences and cultural events.
At the last fair, all attention was drawn to 11-year-old Ayana. With a strong and melodic voice, she performed folk songs of Kyrgyzstan, attracting passersby and visitors. The girl, a student at Gymnasium No. 4 who practices dance and gymnastics, stumbled upon the event by chance after seeing an announcement about the "People's Microphone." Her performance received thunderous applause from everyone present: sellers, buyers, and spectators.
However, the fair is not limited to entertainment. It also serves an important educational function. Farmers receive relevant information from experts. For example, specialists from Rossotrudnichestvo recently spoke about opportunities for free education in agricultural universities in Russia and the chances of admission to educational institutions under the patronage of Rosatom and the Russian Railways. Farmers note that such knowledge helps them plan their children's future and develop their businesses.
“The format of the fair is unique, as here you can not only purchase products directly from the producer but also learn how the products were grown: what fertilizers were used and how often they were watered. This promotes greater responsibility among farmers and helps buyers appreciate the quality of the products,” shared the opinion of the fair curator for the city of Bishkek, Iskak Anarbekov.
To lift the spirits of the guests, the organizers introduced the event "Time for Kara-Jorgo!", during which all participants of the fair dance every hour to recharge their energy.
The fair will continue until June 2026. Farmers and processors can participate for free, provided that the products are of high quality and environmentally friendly, with prices lower than market rates. Confirmation from the district agricultural management of the Ministry is also required.
