The volume of accumulated Chinese direct foreign investments in Kyrgyzstan has increased from 826 million dollars in 2016 to 2.1 billion dollars in the first half of 2025. This data is provided by the Eurasian Development Bank.

As of today, Kyrgyzstan accounts for 5.8% of the total Chinese investment portfolio in Central Asia. The main investments are concentrated in the mining and manufacturing sectors. Among the significant projects is a solar power plant in Balakchy, financed both by the equity of the Chinese investor and by borrowed funds with the support of the Kyrgyz Green Energy Fund.

Other major infrastructure initiatives include the construction of a railway connecting China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. This project is being implemented with the participation of China Railway International, with China's share being 51%. Total investments from Chinese partners are expected to reach 3.53 billion dollars.

In addition, the establishment of a coal logistics center by Xinjiang Dacheng Yuanlong Technology in the Osh region is planned.
