In the past year, the trade volume between China and Kyrgyzstan has set a new record, amounting to $27.2 billion. This was reported by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kyrgyz Republic, Liu Jiangping, through the media.
Liu Jiangping noted that the dynamics of trade and economic relations between the two countries continue to grow. Currently, Kyrgyzstan ranks second among China's trading partners in Central Asia, with the volume of bilateral trade accounting for about 25% of China's total turnover with this part of the world.
In 2025, the trade volume between the two countries increased by 20% compared to the previous year, once again confirming a historical record. The growth rate of trade turned out to be the highest in Central Asia. Imports from Kyrgyzstan increased by 86%, which also contributed to improving the trade balance between the states.
It was also noted that the agencies responsible for trade and economy in both countries are actively working on fulfilling the agreements reached between the leaders of the countries. In particular, negotiations are underway for the signing of the Agreement on Trade in Services and Investments, which should create a more sustainable institutional foundation for expanding cooperation.
The ambassador emphasized that at this new stage of development, China intends to move forward together with Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian countries, strengthening cooperation within the framework of China's Fifteenth Five-Year Plan and the national development strategies of its partners. This involves the formation of the "Spirit of China – Central Asia" and the active implementation of practical results from the summits in this format.
