He noted that despite the introduction of remote voting, the level of citizen participation turned out to be extremely low.
“We created the necessary conditions and hoped that turnout would rise to 70%. However, this did not happen. The reasons include both vote buying and the indifference of a part of the population, which is also related to our inability to cultivate an electoral culture. Perhaps we should consider the possibility of introducing mandatory measures or finding other approaches. We urgently need a new law that will promote active participation of the population in elections,” the president added, urging the deputies to reflect on the draft law.
