Nokia's report also states that 86% of companies in Europe believe their current networks are not capable of scaling to meet the needs of AI, and 78% express concern that infrastructure shortcomings could slow the progress of AI projects.
Similar opinions are voiced in the USA, where 88% of surveyed companies and telecom operators discuss the risks associated with the development of AI.
Nokia emphasizes not only issues of speed and latency but also aspects of digital sovereignty. Almost a third of European companies fear that a lack of reliable infrastructure could lead to the relocation of AI systems outside the region.
