On the road leading to the ski resort near Karakol, a traffic accident involving several vehicles occurred.
According to eyewitness accounts, the incident happened when the driver of a "Toyota Land Cruiser Prado" lost control due to the slippery road surface caused by ice on the descent.

Such accidents are not uncommon in this area, as ice often leads to collisions. For example, in mid-February 2024, a traffic accident involving four vehicles occurred on the way to the ski base.
Eyewitnesses report that due to the slippery road, the "Lexus LX470," "Toyota Alphard," "Subaru Outback," and "Mercedes-Benz ML 350" slid down, colliding with each other.

According to data from the Traffic Safety Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Issyk-Kul region, there has been an absence of serious traffic jams in the 2024-2025 season; however, the flow of cars to the ski base remains significant. As of January 3, 2025, about 1,000 vehicles had entered the resort, and to date, that number has increased to 1,100.
The lack of parking spaces at the resort forces tourists to leave their cars along the main road, as there are not enough parking lots nearby for the large number of vehicles.

In 2024-2025, the road leading to the ski base was reconstructed. The length of the route from Karakol to the resort is 7.1 km, and its width after the repair is 6 meters.
