According to local media reports, the foreign car was moving along Depovskaya Street, which is the main road, towards Ukhtomskiy. At the same time, a police officer in the UAZ was coming from a secondary road off Lazo Street and was about to turn left at the intersection.
During the interrogation, the driver of the Toyota Prius told the traffic police that he noticed the police car but did not expect it to not yield to him, even though he had the right of way. The police officer, however, denied his guilt in the incident and disagreed with the conclusions regarding his responsibility for the accident.
At the scene of the incident, the traffic police conducted an inspection and listened to the opinions of both participants. Following the initial analysis of the circumstances of the accident, the inspectors concluded that the mistake was made by the law enforcement officer.
