“I informed in advance about the video recording”
President Sadyr Japarov stated that some participants of the IV People's Kurultai deceived him. He announced this on his social media pages.
“On the second day of the forum, I was answering questions from the participants. One of them asked about the elections, and I expressed my regret regarding the low voter turnout. I also asked the audience to raise their hands if they participated in the recent parliamentary elections,” the president noted.
All delegates without exception raised their hands.
“These moments were broadcast live. I had informed in advance that video recording was taking place. I was surprised and saddened that some delegates lied without hesitation. They were elected by the residents of the regions they represent. The Central Election Commission confirmed that 71 delegates did not participate in the elections. I do not intend to put them in an awkward position, so I will not name names. Everyone understands who is being referred to,” Japarov added.
