In Bishkek and Kara-Balta, a performance of the musical show "King and Jester: Shadows on the Wall" took place, which became a significant cultural event.

This performance was created by participants of a school theater studio under the guidance of Nezhdana Zaretskaya-Shcherbina, a teacher at the children's art school in the Panfilov district.

The plot, based on the songs of the famous rock band "King and Jester," was first presented at the youth festival "Russian Premiere," which took place on the small stage of the State National Russian Drama Theater named after Chyngyz Aitmatov in Bishkek.

In Kara-Balta, the performance was shown on the stage of the Lenin Cultural House.

The production combines rock music, dramaturgy, and visual symbols, with all musical numbers performed by the participants of the theater studio themselves.

As Nezhdana Zaretskaya-Shcherbina noted, the central conflict of the plot is between the tyrant King and the Jester, who in the finale will overthrow the ruler and transfer power to the people, refusing the crown.

Sixteen-year-old Darya Patraty played the lead role of the Jester. She is a student of the studio, which she has been attending for six years, and is a two-time prizewinner of the Delphi Games in the acting category.

However, behind the success on stage lie difficulties: the theater group lacks a permanent rehearsal space and stable funding. Classes are held in school classrooms, and some stage elements are practiced outdoors. Costumes and props are stored with the director. Despite all the obstacles, the theater continues to develop.
