A substance resembling drugs was found in the pocket of an organized crime group member.

In Talas, police identified a narcotic substance with one of the citizens during preventive measures, reported the press service of the regional Internal Affairs Directorate.

According to information from the press service, a special order was issued to implement the main organizational plan for the first half of 2026. As part of this, a raid called "Bandit" took place in the region from February 12 to 14.

The main objective of this raid was to reduce the level of crime, solve previously committed crimes, and conduct preventive talks with citizens registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic as members of organized criminal groups.

"As a result of the operation, officers from the criminal investigation department and the local internal affairs department identified nine citizens registered as members of organized criminal groups residing in the Talas region. They were taken to police stations for further checks, including fingerprinting and assessing their possible involvement in unsolved crimes," the report noted.

Additionally, a personal search of a resident of the Talas district named Sh.M., born in 1976, who is also registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic as a member of an organized criminal group, proved to be fruitful. During the search, a substance resembling drugs was found in the inner pocket of his jacket, packaged in dark cellophane," the press service added.

This incident was recorded in the electronic journal of information accounting of the Talas region's Internal Affairs Directorate, and an investigative check is currently underway.
