In Nookat, a man has been convicted of killing his fellow villager as a result of a conflict. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

According to the information from the Nookat district prosecutor's office, during the first nine months of 2025, 7 criminal cases related to particularly serious crimes were registered, which is one case less than in the same period last year, when there were 8 such cases. All investigations have been completed, and the materials have been submitted to the court for further consideration.

The prosecutor's office actively coordinates the work of law enforcement agencies to solve serious crimes and ensure thorough and impartial investigations. In this role, it acts as an important center that monitors compliance with the law at all stages of the criminal process and takes measures to prevent crimes. The prosecutor's office also aims to unite the efforts of various agencies for a more effective fight against crime.

During the reporting period, the prosecutor's office held numerous joint meetings, during which shortcomings in investigations and violations related to the inaction of the criminal investigation department were identified. Prosecutorial measures were taken in response to the identified violations aimed at holding those responsible accountable.

As assured by the prosecutor's office staff, such meetings contribute to improving interaction between investigative and operational services, as well as implementing comprehensive measures for solving crimes. Such meetings are held regularly and have a positive impact on the effectiveness of the fight against crime.

In each case of serious crime, the prosecutor's office monitors the progress of the investigation and supports the state prosecution in court to ensure a fair and lawful verdict.

In particular, on April 21, 2025, an incident occurred in the village of Kok-Jar, during which citizen B. uulu T. inflicted knife wounds on D.B. during a conflict, leading to D.B.'s death at the scene.

The investigative service of the Nookat Department of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under part 1 of article 122 of the Criminal Code ("Murder") on the same day. B. uulu T. was detained in accordance with the requirements of the criminal procedural legislation and placed in a temporary detention facility.

On April 22, he was charged under paragraph 5 of part 2 of article 122 of the Criminal Code ("Murder committed for hooligan motives"). On the same day, the court decided to remand him in custody for two months.

As a result of the investigation, on May 31, 2025, an indictment was drawn up, and the case was sent to the Nookat District Court for consideration.

On July 21, 2025, the court found B. uulu T. guilty under the aforementioned paragraph and sentenced him to 14 years in prison, as well as ordered him to compensate the victim's side for moral and material damages amounting to 500,000 soms.
