In the At-Bashinsky district, a working forum was held dedicated to the International Anti-Corruption Day. The event took place in the building of the district administration with the participation of leaders from local government institutions.

Prosecutors, representatives from the district department of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) in the Naryn region, and staff from the internal affairs department were present at the meeting.

During the meeting, law enforcement agencies reminded attendees that December 9 is celebrated as International Anti-Corruption Day, established by the UN General Assembly in 2003 to raise awareness about corruption and develop measures to prevent it.

Discussions at the meeting began with defining corruption, its negative impact on the country's development, and criminal liability for corrupt offenses, alongside the requirements of anti-corruption legislation.

Prosecutors then informed participants about the adoption of Presidential Decree No. 137 dated June 5, 2024, which approves the State Strategy for Combating Corruption for 2025–2030. Participants were briefed on the main goals and content of this document, emphasizing the importance of achieving real results rather than merely formal compliance with requirements.

Prosecutors noted that amendments will be made to current legislation, including the laws "On Counteracting Corruption," "On the Protection of Whistleblowers," and "On Conflict of Interest," as well as the Criminal Code, to eliminate existing gaps and contradictions. Participants also learned about the increased responsibility for corrupt offenses. Importantly, in the case of criminal prosecution, close relatives of the offender will not be able to hold positions in state and municipal institutions.

Additionally, the issue of strict compliance with anti-corruption legislation by all state and municipal employees was raised.

Particular attention was paid to the proper completion of the unified tax declaration on the income of officials—a crucial element of anti-corruption policy. The prosecutor's office pointed out common mistakes in submitting declarations and explained how to fill them out correctly.

During the first nine months of 2025, in accordance with Article 438 ("Failure to submit declarations or improper submission of declarations on property and income"), 42 state and municipal employees were held accountable, with 157,000 soms collected for the budget.

In conclusion, law enforcement officials warned of strict measures that will be applied for violations in the field of combating corruption. Heads of institutions were instructed to convey this information to all employees of their organizations.
