In the Issyk-Ata District and Kant, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was celebrated.

In the Issyk-Ata district and the city of Kant, the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities took place, as reported by a correspondent from Turmush in the district administration.

Among the participants of the event were: the deputy head of the Issyk-Ata district state administration, Almazbek Suyndukov, the mayor of Kant, Ulan Mailibashev, the head of the labor, social protection, and migration department, Ainura Balbakova, as well as the head of the district culture department, Klara Narynbaeva. Additionally, representatives from the public foundations "Bala kubanychy" and "Bala ümütü," as well as children with disabilities and their parents were present.

As part of the celebration, a concert organized by the local culture department was held. The participants were congratulated on the holiday, and gifts were presented to the children and their guardians.

Currently, there are 1,268 registered individuals with disabilities in the Issyk-Ata district, and 904 in Kant, totaling 2,172 people. Of these, 743 are children under the age of 18.

The idea of holding the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was proposed by the United Nations General Assembly. In 1992, a resolution was adopted proclaiming December 3 as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. In December 2006, the UN General Assembly also adopted a convention aimed at protecting the rights of vulnerable groups in society.
