Vasily Glatchenko, living at the "Jeti-Oguz" resort in the Issyk-Kul region, shared his impressions of life in Kyrgyzstan with a Turmush correspondent, emphasizing his pride in this country.

He was born in 1989 and studied at the local secondary school named after Danake Imanova, graduating from the Kyrgyz class. After obtaining a welding profession in Karakol, he got a job at the "Jeti-Oguz" resort complex. In 2009, he met his future wife, Yulia, who was then a fifth-grade student. "We grew up together, and for four years I hid my feelings. One day I decided to confess, and she reciprocated. We got married and have lived in peace and harmony ever since. In 2015, our son Ilya was born; at that time, we were renting an apartment. In 2017, our second son Oleg was born, and in 2021, our daughter Daria. In 2018, we built our own house with the help of relatives and friends," Vasily shared.

The Glatchenko family actively supports the traditions of the local culture. "We live in a Kyrgyz village, maintain good neighborly relations, and honor both Kyrgyz and Russian customs. During holidays like Orozo Ait and Easter, we set the table and welcome guests. During the month of Orozo, local kids come to read 'jaramazan,' and my wife treats them to sweets. On Nooruz, we prepare boorsoks and visit friends," he added.

Vasily has a brother and a sister. His brother was born in Kazakhstan, and his sister was born in Jeti-Oguz. "We often visited relatives in Russia, but our home is here, and that is priceless. Our family has strong ties; my brother's wife is Kyrgyz. Yulia and I are happy in our beautiful Jeti-Oguz. Our children study in the Kyrgyz class and already speak the language well, and if they have difficulties, I am always ready to help," he noted.

Yulia, supporting her husband, talked about her move. "I moved to Jeti-Oguz in the fifth grade. When Vasily proposed to me after school, I agreed. I am from the village of Konkino, and my mom said at that time, 'Think carefully.' At the time of our wedding, I was 17, and Vasily was 22. At first, it was hard for me because everyone spoke to me in Kyrgyz, and I couldn't respond," she recalls.

With her language skills improving, Yulia became more confident, although she still worries about making mistakes sometimes. "Vasily speaks Kyrgyz fluently. When I first got married, many doubted our future, but now we have three children. When my husband is at work, I take care of the household and look after the livestock with Ilya. We even kept 10 mares and one stallion, milked them, and sold kumis to tourists. In the summer, I sometimes sell honey," Yulia added.
