Significant attention is also being paid to the development of preschool education. Yesterday, on March 17, during the ceremony of laying the capsule for the specialized kindergarten for children with disabilities "Ümüt chyragy," the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, noted that by 2030, it is planned to increase the coverage of children in preschool education to 80%.
“The level of coverage of children in kindergartens in the country has increased from 28.3% in 2024 to 51% in 2025. Currently, over 320 thousand children are being educated in 2,344 kindergartens across Kyrgyzstan,” the head of the Cabinet reported.

As of 2025, 367 institutions were restructured, allowing for the opening of 518 additional groups and educating 13,447 children. Notably, 25 kindergartens that were previously in private hands have been returned to state ownership.
Additionally, 500 short-term kindergartens and 60 development centers have been opened. A pilot project for state voucher funding has been launched, providing additional assistance to children from low-income families and children with disabilities.

It is important to emphasize that the work on the construction and modernization of schools and kindergartens in Kyrgyzstan is aimed not only at increasing their number but also at improving the quality of education and access to it. The process of developing educational infrastructure does not stop, and 2026 will be another step towards achieving strategic goals in education and increasing the coverage of children in preschool institutions.
