The head of the department emphasized that while the construction of medical facilities requires substantial investment, it should not burden the budget with such high prices. “We regularly build hospitals, and although such facilities cost more than ordinary buildings, the price per square meter should not exceed $1,000. However, in this case, according to the estimate, the price is $1,424. This is a significant difference, and the cost of the project must be reviewed,” Oruntaev noted.
He also urged representatives of the construction company to continue their work, assuring that contracts would be updated with new conditions.
The total estimated cost of the hospital is 2 billion 303 million soms, with funding from the Stabilization Fund of Kyrgyzstan. Currently, 900 million soms have been allocated, of which 283 million soms have already been transferred to the contractor.

Turmush previously reported that on June 22, 2025, a capsule-laying ceremony for the new building of the regional hospital was held in the city of Jalal-Abad (now Manas).
This event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister – Chairman of the State National Security Committee Kamchybek Tashiev, the Presidential Representative in the Jalal-Abad region Tilek Tekebaev, as well as local authorities and hospital staff.
Earlier, the hospital staff appealed to the Deputy Prime Minister for assistance in improving the technical base. At the end of March, he familiarized himself with the condition of the facility. As a result, a decision was made to construct a modern hospital, including the possibility of helicopter landings.
By the order of the Chairman of the State National Security Committee, the old Soviet-era building was demolished, and the adjacent territory was cleared.
The construction of the new seven-story building for 280 beds began on an area of about 2.5 hectares, with funding coming from the republican budget.
Completion of construction is expected by June 2026.
