In this impressive image published by Andrew McCarthy, viewers can see skydiver Gabriel Brown flying against the backdrop of the Sun. To achieve this effect, Brown jumped from a powered paraglider at a pre-calculated height and distance, allowing McCarthy to capture the moment of his movement.

The shot was taken using a special solar telescope operating at the H-alpha wavelength (656.28 nm), which allows for detailed study of the chromosphere and active regions of our star. Because of this, the photograph displays not only sunspots but also other details of the Sun's surface, creating an effect that resembles an almost fairy-tale scene.

On his Twitter account, McCarthy shared details of the shoot: "The moment of the jump was captured in hydrogen alpha light, which allows us to see the Sun's atmosphere. We decided to release the photo in print — both as a close-up and with the full disk of the Sun, which can be seen here: https://t.co/K4DovGV4ni pic.twitter.com/hYHg7rZXdK".
