Musk owns 42% of SpaceX shares, which is now valued at $336 billion, leading to a total net worth for the businessman of $677 billion, according to Forbes.
In second place on Forbes' list of the richest people is Larry Page, co-founder of Google, whose net worth is about $252 billion, which is $425 billion less than Musk's.
In March 2020, Forbes estimated Musk's net worth at $24.6 billion, but by August of the same year, it had grown to $100 billion due to the rise in Tesla's stock. In January 2021, Musk first topped the list of the richest people with a net worth of $190 billion. By September 2021, Forbes had already valued his wealth at over $200 billion. In November 2021, he surpassed the $300 billion mark, in December 2024 — $400 billion, and in October 2025 — $500 billion.
