- Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine could be achieved within a few weeks, although Kyiv would have to compromise on issues of territorial integrity.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared a proposal for a compromise on Donbas, voiced in the U.S.: "By creating a free economic zone, if Ukraine concedes a certain distance, Russia must also retreat by a similar distance," he noted.
- As a result of a drone attack in the village of Voznesenovka, located in the Shebekino district of the Belgorod region, a man and a woman were killed. Previously, a woman died in a similar attack on a highway in the region.
- A strike on Odesa resulted in damage to apartment buildings, with casualties reported, including children.
- In Tuapse, drones damaged a pier and a gas pipeline as a result of the attack.
- Russian military reported the downing of 109 Ukrainian drones in various regions on Tuesday evening.
- In the Moscow region, air defense systems shot down 21 Ukrainian drones; one of them caused an explosion upon falling, injuring a 67-year-old man.
- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, in his New Year address, emphasized that the war in Ukraine directly affects European countries, including Germany, as it is part of Russia's strategy against all of Europe.
- Romania joined the American arms procurement program "Ukraine Priority Requirements List" (PURL), allocating 50 million euros to meet its military needs.
- The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the "Oreshnik" missile system began combat duty in Belarus on December 30.
