According to the Dubai prosecutor's office, the conflict arose between two familiar groups and was caused by a long-standing personal disagreement. The participants in the fight were identified through video recordings and eyewitness testimonies, after which they were detained in a hotel in another emirate. The case was referred to the prosecutor's office for further investigation.
On April 25 of last year, Uzbek diplomats held a meeting with the leadership of the Dubai Criminal Investigation Department, where they reported the detention of 15 citizens of Uzbekistan and the continuation of investigative activities.
Akhror Burkhanov, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, noted that the relevant agencies are studying the situation and protecting the rights of Uzbek citizens. He added that the government is taking all necessary measures to resolve this issue.
Furthermore, the UAE authorities expressed concern about the increase in offenses involving citizens of Uzbekistan abroad, which could negatively affect the visa-free regime between the two countries.
