During this visit, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov received information about the progress and results of the mechanized cleaning of main canals carried out by the local branch of RGP "Kazvodkhoz," marking the first such initiative in many years. The cleaning covered canals K-21 and K-34, as well as the continuation of work on canal K-25.

Canal K-21, one of the most significant in the region, provides water supply for 20,000 hectares of irrigated land located in three rural districts. The complete cleaning, performed using special equipment, covered 22.8 kilometers of the canal, making it the first such event in over 40 years.

The cleaning of canal K-34, which is 18.5 kilometers long, focused on 7.5 kilometers in the lower section. Last growing season, there were issues with water transportation in this area, but now the cleaning work has been completed.

Canal K-25, which is 28.2 kilometers long, provides irrigation for 13,000 hectares of land in three rural districts of the Zhetisay region. Currently, mechanized cleaning of a 10-kilometer section is underway using five units of special equipment; so far, 4 kilometers have been cleaned.

Nurzhan Nurzhigitov emphasized that the ministry has done significant work to modernize the branches of "Kazvodkhoz," including the delivery of about 600 units of new equipment, which has created the necessary conditions for the successful implementation of planned projects. He added that all canal cleaning work should be completed before the start of the growing season to ensure quality water supply for farmers.

Local residents expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, as well as the Turkestan branch of RGP "Kazvodkhoz," for the work carried out. One resident of the village of Temirzhol, Sakhtilla Temiraliyev, noted that last year there were problems with water supply due to the siltation of canal K-34, but now, after the cleaning has been completed, they hope for uninterrupted water supply for farmers. He added that such large-scale work had not been conducted for a long time due to a lack of equipment, and now, thanks to the ministry's efforts, this has become possible.
