A ferry sank in the Philippines with more than 350 passengers: 15 people died, dozens are missing

The vessel was heading from Zamboanga to Jolo Island in Sulu Province and had 332 passengers and 27 crew members on board.

According to reports from the coast guard, technical problems may have caused the disaster. Coast Guard Commander Romel Dua told the Associated Press that the incident occurred shortly after midnight on January 26, about 2 kilometers from the village of Baluk-Baluk in Basilan Province, where many survivors were taken.

The causes of the ferry sinking are still unknown, and an investigation is currently underway.
