In Sri Lanka, the aftermath of the powerful cyclones "Ditwa" and "Senyar" continues, affecting not only this country but also other regions of South and Southeast Asia. Cyclone "Ditwa" struck the coast of Sri Lanka on November 28, and according to preliminary estimates from the UN, more than 15,000 homes on the island were destroyed. As a result of the natural disaster, over 200 roads and more than 10 bridges have been damaged. The country's president, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, described the flooding as "the greatest natural disaster in the history of Sri Lanka."

Although the cyclone has already left the island, meteorologists warn of possible renewed rainfall, as reported by the Associated Press (AP). Monsoon rains have also flooded Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. According to AP data from December 2, at least 181 people have died in Thailand, 659 in Indonesia, and another 475 are reported missing.
