Powerful rains caused by cyclones have led to at least 218 people being reported missing in Sri Lanka. As a result of the flooding, a dam in the country burst, forcing around a million locals to suffer from the disaster, and approximately 200,000 people have taken refuge in temporary shelters.

According to ABC News, there are significant disruptions to communication and power supply in Southeast Asia: the floods have damaged power lines and transformers. In Indonesia, nearly 3,000 homes have been affected, of which 827 were completely destroyed or swept away.
