According to Rafaelito Alejandro, the Deputy Administrator of the National Civil Defense, there is a possibility that the number of casualties may increase, but a significant rise is unlikely.

“At this moment, our priority is to restore communications, clear the roads, and restore power and communication lines,” he noted, adding that the recovery work may take several weeks.

Super Typhoon "Fung-wong" is the second typhoon to hit the Philippines within a week. It brought heavy rains and gusty winds, with speeds reaching 225 km/h. In connection with this, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared a state of emergency in the country. Currently, "Fung-wong" is moving towards Taiwan.

It is worth noting that the previous super typhoon "Kalmagei" (referred to as super typhoon "Tino" in the Philippines) resulted in the deaths of at least 232 people.
