Expert named the most common fraud schemes before March 8

In the run-up to March 8, fraud based on the "flower delivery" scheme continues to be relevant. Criminals may call the victim, posing as a courier, and request a code from an SMS. This was reported by the Izvestia portal.

Dmitry Morev, the director of information security at RuStore, noted that such fraudulent actions occur when criminals call people and present themselves as employees of flower shops, informing them that an anonymous bouquet has been ordered in their name. To confirm the delivery, they ask for the address or request the code from the text message. This code can be used to gain access to banking applications or accounts on government services.

Additionally, there is another fraud scheme involving hacked accounts. Scammers gain access to users' social media pages and send messages on behalf of acquaintances, asking for urgent money transfers "for a gift for March 8" or to pay for the delivery of a bouquet. In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, such requests are often perceived as quite plausible.
