A fire broke out in Bishkek in a building that previously served as the "Chatyr-Kul" cinema. Videos are actively circulating on social media showing a huge column of smoke rising above the building.

According to eyewitness accounts, the flames engulfed the roof of the structure.

Currently, information is being clarified regarding possible victims and the causes of the incident.

According to the "Frunze City Encyclopedia," the "Chatyr-Kul" cinema was founded in 1967 in the Botanical residential area, on Dushanbinskaya Street (now known as Toktonalieva). This establishment served as a cultural and recreational center for the neighborhoods, had an auditorium with 600 seats, and was built to serve the residents of the city's new developments.
