On November 14, inspectors from the Main Department of Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan conducted a raid aimed at identifying vehicles with illegal modifications, as reported by the press secretary of the Main Department of Road Safety, Baikazy Aitikul uulu, to the editorial office of "AKIpress Summary".

During the raid in Bishkek, a van was discovered with LED lights on its roof. As a result, it was decided to send the "Sprinter" to the impound lot. During a discussion between the road safety inspector, Avaz Shukurbekov, and the driver, a quarrel arose as the latter believed the actions of the police officers were unlawful.

Inspector Shukurbekov, pointing out the danger, stated: "You cannot abuse trust, Taksyr. You are blinding other drivers." To this, the driver replied that he does not operate in Kyrgyzstan.

Shukurbekov insisted: "This is a violation, and tomorrow you could be charged with a crime." In response, the driver stated that he uses the van in Kazakhstan and Russia.

The inspector countered: "Are there no people living in Kazakhstan? It is also prohibited there [...] You are playing with people's lives. How many people have died because of these lights?" The driver tried to explain that he does not drive in Kyrgyzstan, and his acquaintance added that these lights are necessary for trips across the steppes of Kazakhstan and are not used in Kyrgyzstan.

The inspector retorted: "And in Kyrgyzstan, do you fly? You do enter Kyrgyzstan." Eventually, the driver climbed onto the van and broke the installed lights. A report was drawn up against him under Article 194 ("Driving a vehicle modified without the appropriate approval from the authorized body in the field of internal affairs") of the Code of Offenses of Kyrgyzstan, and the vehicle was placed in the impound lot.
