Forgetting her phone, the woman went to the GKNB with cash
The incident involving phone scammers affected a Bishkek resident, and according to the Internal Affairs Department of the Lenin District, her forgetfulness helped save her money.
According to law enforcement information, the scammers called the woman, who had previously worked in the education sector, posing as an acquaintance, as well as employees of the "GKNB" and "National Bank." They convinced her to sell her apartment, claiming that her funds were allegedly being used to finance terrorist organizations in Syria.
After the woman cashed her money, she headed to one of the shopping centers in the capital to transfer the funds. However, forgetting her phone at home, she decided to stop by the nearby GKNB office to clarify what to do next with the money.
Committee employees suspected that something was wrong and advised the woman to cease communication with the scammers and contact the police.
