An announcement has appeared on the internet inviting anyone interested to take trees that are growing on the territory of the Muratala Kurunkeev Music College, as they are planned to be demolished.

In the text of the announcement, it is stated: "You can take the trees for free, please call the address Moscow Ponfilova Music Institution" (the author's spelling and style are preserved. - Note from Kaktus.media).

Saydzhon Asankadyr, the director of the college, told Kaktus.media that he is currently not responsible for the repair work being carried out by the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic. "They hire contractors themselves, and indeed, there is demolition going on, but we were told that it concerns only unnecessary wooden construction elements," he noted.

The director also emphasized that under the new project, the building of the college will change significantly and will look different than before.

Recall that last summer it became known about the upcoming demolition of the Muratala Kurunkeev Music College building in Bishkek. Students were informed that they must take their exams by June 23. The students expressed dissatisfaction as they would have to start the new academic year in a building in "Tunguch," where there are no necessary conditions. As a result, classes are held in a five-story dormitory of the College of Arts on Timiryazev Street in Bishkek.

The history of the educational institution began in October 1939 when it was founded by a decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the Kyrgyz SSR in Frunze. In 1945, the college was named after Muratala Kurunkeev, the People's Artist of the Republic, by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.

In August 2024, this educational institution was granted national status by the order of the President of Kyrgyzstan.
