In the morning, Bishkek once again experienced significant smoke pollution. The smog enveloped both the central districts of the city and the private sector in the north of the capital. In video recordings made by reporters from 24.kg, it is clearly visible that the city is shrouded in a gray cloud.
According to experts, the deterioration of air quality is related to the start of the heating season, when many households in the private sector use coal for heating. Additionally, weak winds prevent the polluted air from rising and dispersing.
The most severe layers of smog are recorded in areas with high building density and along major roads.
Forecasters warn that if current meteorological conditions persist, the smog may last until the evening. Doctors recommend that people with chronic lung diseases, as well as children and the elderly, avoid prolonged stays outdoors.
