This year, girls from 120 countries participated in the contest. For the first time in history, a representative of the Palestinian people, Nadine Ayoub, became a semifinalist.
Representing Kyrgyzstan at the contest was Mary Kuvakova, who took to the stage in the image of a golden eagle, symbolizing freedom and strength in Kyrgyz culture. Her outfit in golden-bronze tones with large decorative wings was created by designer Tolgonai Abyshkaeva (brand Baira). On the eve of the final, two judges left the jury. Composer Omar Harfush expressed doubts about the selection process, but the organizers denied his accusations. Amid internal disagreements, the contest also experienced a change in leadership, with Mario Bucaro becoming the new CEO. According to CNN, the next contest will take place in Puerto Rico.
