Kazakhstan has initiated an international search for Belarusian blogger and streamer Andrei Burim, better known as Mellstroy. This information was published by the news agency RIA Novosti based on official data.
According to the ministry, Burim is suspected of organizing a large-scale advertising campaign for the online casino Mellstroy.game, which targeted users in Kazakhstan. The blogger used social media to conduct various contests and challenges, where participants had to record videos mentioning the brand and post links to the casino's website.
The judicial authorities of Kazakhstan have already decided to place the blogger in custody in connection with these charges.
It is important to note that Burim was previously convicted in Russia, where he was sentenced to community service and fined for using violence during a live broadcast. In November 2025, a court in Minsk recognized all his channels, logos, and watermarks as extremist.
Kairat Bizhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Financial Monitoring, raised the issue of the need to introduce criminal liability for bloggers involved in advertising online casinos, pointing out that such content has become widespread and contributes to an increase in gambling addiction. He noted that the current fines are not strict enough and do not deter bloggers from engaging in such activities.
