The ex-wife of the famous boxer Dmitry Bivol, Ekaterina, has been declared wanted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan after a video surfaced in which she makes offensive remarks about representatives of various nationalities.

In response to an official inquiry from the news portal Tengrinews.kz, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that Ekaterina Bivol is wanted, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been applied in this case.

“A criminal case has been initiated, and a pre-trial investigation is ongoing,” the agency representatives stated, without specifying the exact article under which the case has been opened.
They declined to provide further details due to the interests of the investigation.

Earlier, a court in Bishkek had already made a decision regarding the absentia arrest of Ekaterina Bivol.

The investigative service of the Bishkek City Department of Internal Affairs has initiated a criminal case in accordance with Article 330 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan, which concerns "Incitement of racial, ethnic, national, religious, or interregional enmity." This offense carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of five to seven years.

The incident was a result of a video posted by Ekaterina on October 21 on her social media page, where she made derogatory comments about Kyrgyz and Kazakhs.

Ekaterina Bivol is a citizen of Russia, born in Kyrgyzstan, later obtained Russian citizenship, and in 2023 ended her marriage to boxer Dmitry Bivol.
