Deputy Head of UOS, Yevgeny Artemov, noted that the investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, based on the circumstances outlined in the appeal.
It is worth recalling that earlier the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan announced the start of a preliminary investigation following the release of a video in which Bivol makes xenophobic statements against citizens of Kyrgyzstan. The agency emphasized the importance of maintaining respect between nations and moral responsibility.
Subsequently, the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Bishkek initiated a criminal case against Ekaterina Bivol under Article 330 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning incitement of interethnic hatred. On October 25, she was charged in absentia and a preventive measure in the form of detention in facility No. 21 of the State Penitentiary Service was chosen. She has been declared wanted.
After the investigation began, Ekaterina Bivol stated in a comment to Russian media that the laws of Kyrgyzstan do not apply to her and that no one has contacted her. She emphasized that she lives in Russia and is subject only to Russian law.
Additionally, it has become known that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan has also initiated a case against Ekaterina Bivol and declared her wanted. Kazakhstan intends to request her extradition for further proceedings.
