According to information from the police, on May 12, an 81-year-old woman from Murom received a call from a person claiming to be an employee of the military investigative committee. The fraudster, using the pretext of needing to "declare funds," persuaded the pensioner to gather 500,000 rubles and send them to Moscow for "verification." She followed all the instructions.
To deliver the funds, the fraudsters used taxi services. In the Moscow region, the 21-year-old courier was detained, who was supposed to transfer the received money to the account specified by the organizers of the fraudulent scheme.
The accused fully admitted his guilt. The criminal case with an approved indictment has been sent to court for further consideration.
