Investigative actions were initiated after a publication on Instagram, where the mother of one of the students expressed dissatisfaction with how the investigation was proceeding and claimed that there were regular instances of extortion at the educational institution. The case has been registered with the police department of the Sokuluk district, and an inspection has been appointed.
Earlier, on October 24, social media also reported that high school students were allegedly demanding money from their younger peers. Based on statements from local residents, a criminal case was opened under Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic for "Extortion".
According to the investigation, the organizer of these criminal activities is B. A., a former student of the mentioned school, born in 2007, who is currently studying at a university. He has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. The investigation is ongoing.
The police department urged citizens to be attentive to the accuracy of information and to obtain information only from official sources, as the dissemination of false data may lead to criminal liability.
