Fish producers in Kyrgyzstan who export their products to Russia are expressing serious concerns due to the difficulties that have arisen in their operations. A representative of the company OsOO "Tian-Shan Trout," Andrey Nazarov, has appealed to government agencies and the media for assistance in resolving the critical situation that has emerged.

According to him, over the past ten days, the number of cargo delays caused by the Rosselkhoznadzor has increased, accompanied by excessive inspections and the creation of unjustified obstacles.

“As a result, our products are not reaching the market in time, leading to an artificial decrease in their price. If in the summer fish from Kyrgyzstan was sold for 650-700 rubles per kilogram, now the price has dropped to 500 rubles due to new difficulties,” Nazarov explains.

He also adds that while the wholesale price of fish in Russia is 1,200 rubles, it is expected to rise to 1,500 rubles before the New Year. “During such a profitable period, the delay in shipments looks like a deliberate scheme forcing us to sell our products at reduced prices. We have encountered similar situations multiple times and are convinced that the Rosselkhoznadzor is involved in corrupt schemes,” he says.

Nazarov emphasizes that currently, the Rosselkhoznadzor has a mediating company — LLC "Unifrost," which effectively controls the export of fish and receives preferences.
“Only the products that producers are forced to sell to this company at reduced prices pass without problems. At the same time, those who try to establish direct supplies to other regions face constant difficulties and returns of goods under various pretexts,” he adds.

This situation threatens not only individual producers but the entire fish industry of Kyrgyzstan. If the obstacles continue, it could lead to a halt in production, losses, and even bankruptcy of farms, jeopardizing the future of the sector.
Exporters express gratitude for economic cooperation with Russia but note that the ongoing difficulties are forcing them to seek alternative markets, such as China. “Dependence on a single market makes us vulnerable to such pressure. After these trials, the question arises: what benefit have we gained from membership in the EAEU?” says Nazarov.

In light of the above, exporters are calling for this issue to be addressed at the state level and for fair conditions to be created for their activities. “We strive to operate in accordance with the law and contribute to the economy of the country, but the current barriers deprive us of this opportunity,” they conclude in their appeal.
