The elections are conducted under a majoritarian system: 90 deputies will be elected in 30 multi-mandate districts, with three representatives from each district. According to the legislation, there cannot be more than two mandates in one district belonging to representatives of the same gender.
As reported by the Central Election Commission, there are 2,492 polling stations open across the republic, and 100 stations are available for citizens located abroad.
A correspondent from 24.kg visited one of the polling stations in Bishkek to demonstrate how the voting process is taking place.
Since the morning, there has been a steady flow of voters. At the entrance, members of the precinct commission check documents and direct people to the electronic ballot boxes.
The polling station is equipped in accordance with established requirements, and informational materials about the voting process are available.
Election commission staff report a calm voting process and the absence of violations. Voters are arriving at a steady pace, and there are no queues observed.
Voting will continue until 8:00 PM, after which the vote counting process will begin. We will keep an eye on further developments.
