At the "Dostuk" checkpoint, work is underway to install a 45-meter flagpole.

As reported by representatives of the Osh city administration, the installation of the flagpole is just part of a large-scale project that includes the improvement of the adjacent area: laying paving stones, installing benches, and landscaping the surrounding zone.

According to local authorities, the update of the checkpoint's appearance is aimed at creating a modern and attractive entrance to the city.
Last summer, the area near the checkpoint was also improved. On July 8, the chairman of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, visited the site to familiarize himself with the landscaping and improvement works at the "Dostuk" checkpoint on the border with Uzbekistan.

At that time, the mayor of the city, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, shared information about the previous condition of the nearby areas and buildings located along the road.

Tashiev also inquired about the issue of spontaneous parking by taxi drivers. The head of the State National Security Committee's office in Osh and Osh region, Daniil Rysaliev, noted that such parking no longer exists, and a special parking area has been organized for taxi drivers.

In addition, police colonel and head of the Osh Department of Internal Affairs, Damirbek Isakov, reported that six employees are on duty around the clock in the area adjacent to the checkpoint, as well as patrol officers and PSN staff.
